WordPress 3.2 was launched this 4th July 2011, this update have some new interesting features. After heavy testing on my testing environment of this blog, i decided to upgrade my blog to use WordPress 3.2. And the result i like the new UI style, probably i’m getting a little bored for the old style.
Plugins Compatibility
I tested all my plugins such as db cache reloaded fix and it is working just fine. Hyper cache, ALl In One SEO, Google Analytic for WordPress, Google XML Sitemap, Livefyre also working fine as well other plugins that i’m using.
WordPress 3.2 New Features
Beside the new admin UI style, i like the “Fullscreen” feature. Before i’m using Notepad++ to write the new blog post since it is less distraction. See the view up there to see how it is in action. The other improvement is WordPress TwentyTen theme, i’m not using TwentyTen for my blog, but there are many positive feedback for this improvements in the forum. If you are using TwentyTen you can explore this new features to make your blog better.
Other Improvements
Now WordPress officially drop PHP 4 and MySQL 4 support. WordPress 3.2 now have the minimal requirements PHP 5.2.4 and MySQL 5. This will surely make WordPress have a great improvements in performance and stability. So if your hosting still use the old PHP version, ask them to update, if they don’t want probably it is time to move to another hosting.
Security improvements also apply in this update, there are some vulnerabilities in WordPress 3.1 because of PHP 4, now it is gone. So i’m recommending you to update to WordPress 3.2 for this reason.
Make sure you watch the video and update your WordPress now for better experience.
