It should be more safe rather than you manually type the url. Phishing attacks use human errors like typos. So using search engine could minimize typos error that could bring you to be attacked by the phisher.
And the other tips, the bank websites or other financial websites, should use a encryptions and verifications. So if you don’t see that security signs at the address bar of your browser, instantly close your browser and don’t continue to input your personal information. Because the attacker can easily get your informations. And if your financial provider doesn’t use any security for their clients, tell them to use or don’t use their services at all.
