Apple’s App Store doesn’t support iOS 2.X apps anymore

We have seen several great mobile devices from Apple over the past years. There were several generations of iPod and iPhone and now there’s iPad. It seems that Apple is working hard on its new devices and software in order to be the best on the market. If you want to be the best on the market, you can use outdated technologies and software so Apple has decided to make some changes with its App Store.

In order to follow the latest standards Apple has decided to cancel support for all of the iOS 2.X apps. iOS 2.X is seriously outdated and most of mobile devices from Apple are using iOS 3.X or later so there’s no point for iOS 2.X apps support anymore. With the new iPhone released and with iOS 4 it was certain that iOS 2.X will eventually become outdated. The information about dropping support for iOS 2.X apps is official form Apple’s iOS Developer blog. According to the blog developers are encouraged to rebuilt their apps and optimize them for iOS 3.X in order to avoid submission and app removal issues.

Apple’s iPhone is one of the most advanced phones on the market and iOS 4 is one the best operating systems available. iOS 4 is easy to use with attractive design and all sorts of amazing features. We don’t need to mention that iOS 4 has support for more than 200 000 applications available on App Store as well. Therefore, Apple advises all of its users to update to iOS 4 for free since iOS 4 is fully compatible with iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS and with second and third generation of iPod Touch. iOS 4 works to its full potential with all of these devices so make sure that you update your iOS to the latest version soon as possible.
